The Kwara state government has warned residents of the state against indiscriminate dumping of refuse.
The government also advised residents of the state to always ensure they comply with the environmental sanitation laws by disposing their waste at appropriate places around the town or use the environmental sanitation trucks going around the town.
The Chief of Staff to the state Governor, Alhaji Adisa Logun gave the warning at Surulere area Ilorin, the state capital when he visited taskforce committee and its workers to assess the evacuation of refuse within Ilorin.
He reiterated that the state government will ensure strict compliance with the sanitation laws to prevent the outbreak of epidemic in the state.
Logun noted that it is an act of indiscipline that brought about indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drainages and on the streets adding that the present government is ready to instill discipline in people to ensure the streets are clean.
He also urged the residents of the state to support government’s policies and programmes which are geared towards making the state great.
