The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar has lamented the non-approval of six district heads for Gwandu Emirate.
The emir, while lamenting over the absence of district heads in six Gwandu communities appealed to Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu to urgently approve their appointments.
The royal father said the appeal became necessary in view of the need to fill the vacant positions of such important positions, adding that the communities have waited for too long without leaders.
He said it was not the tradition of people living in the communities to continue to live without a traditional to lead their affairs.
The emir, who spoke after turbaning two new district heads, urged traditional leaders to be fair and just in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He also admonished them to treat their subjects well and ensure that peace and tranquility reign in their respective domains.
The two newly turbanned district heads are Alhaji Abubakar Abubakar Aliero as the District Head of Danwarai in Aliero local government area and Alhaji Sa’idu Abdullahi, who became the District Head of Giro in Suru local government area.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu, in his response assured the emir that his request on the six district heads would be conveyed to the governor.
