Insurgency: It’s time to seek foreign help – Ex-AIG

A former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Ambrose Aisabor, yesterday blamed the recent onslaught of Boko Haram on what he called the nation’s “defective intelligence system.”

According to him, the intelligence mechanism of the insurgents appears to be more powerful than that of the security agencies.

Speaking with Daily Trust Saturday, the former security chief said it was high time the Federal Government sought assistance from foreign countries, saying there was nothing wrong in seeking help from outside.

Speaking further on banditry, Aisabor said the Federal Government should not have allowed Katsina and Zamfara states to negotiate with criminals, saying it showed lack of capacity by both the federal and state governments.
