Nigerian makes Guernica Prize 2019 shortlist

Nigeria’s Yejide Kilanko has made the 2019 Guernica Prize for Literary Fiction shortlist for her novel manuscript ‘Moldable Women.’

Others on the list include Renee M Sgroi (‘A Twitch in the Bones’), Linda Walsh (‘At Half-Light’), Andrew Wainwright (‘This Cleaving and This Burning’), and Lily Soltani (‘Zulaikha’).

Kilanko has been longlisted for the Etisalat Prize for Literature (now 9mobile Prize for Literature) for debut novel ‘Daughters Who Walk This Path.’

The Guernica Prize for Literary Fiction debuted in 2018. It offers the winning writer a publishing contract with Guernica Editions as a well as a cash prize of $1000. Kevin Wilson won last year for ‘An Idea About My Dead Uncle.’
