No fewer than five people have been confirmed killed while several houses burnt during an attack by unidentified gun men at Zangan village in Takad (Attakar) Chiefdom of Kaura local government of Kaduna State.
Mr Bege Katuka, the Interim Management Committee Chairman of the Council who confirmed this on Friday to the Newsmen said the attackers invaded the community around 4pm on Thursday evening and shot sporadically at the innocent residents.
“Five persons were killed while two others are still missing. A number of houses including, the new police outpost were burnt and vandalised respectively.”
“We have urged the people to remain calm and have confidence in the security personnel that already have secured the area while investigation is ongoing,” he said.
Daily Trust reports that Zangan village where the unfortunate incident occurred, bothers Riyom local government area of Plateau State.
Meanwhile, efforts to get further confirmation from the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Yakubu Sabo failed as he would not respond to calls and SMS sent to him by this reporter.
