The Ona of Abaji and Chairman, Council of Traditional Rulers in the FCT, His Royal Majesty (HRM) Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has celebrated his 22nd anniversary on the throne.
Alhaji Yunusa, who is the 17th Ona of Abaji, was officially installed and presented with first-class staff of office on August 22, 1997 as Ona of Abaji and Chairman FCT Council of Chiefs.
Speaking during the anniversary, Alhaji Yunusa gave praise to God for keeping him alive and in good and sound health to pilot the affairs of the people of his kingdom.
He said he was overwhelmed with joy for the support he has always enjoyed from members of his traditional council which has ensured peace and unity among his subjects and other ethnic groups in his kingdom.
Also speaking at the event, a House of Reps member, Alhaji Hassan U. Sokodabo, described the Ona Abaji as a philanthropic leader and a blessing from God who always devoted his life in serving his subjects irrespective of tribal or religious background.
The chairman of the council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya, congratulated the traditional ruler, saying the celebration was well-deserved.
