Mechanic arraigned over N300,000 fraud

A 39-year-old man, Saheed Shittu, was yesterday arraigned before an Ikeja magistrate court, Lagos, allegedly for fraudulently obtaining N300,000 from a complainant, Stephen Ayeni.

The police alleged that Shittu committed the offence on March 2, 2019 at No 11, Fagbayi Ige Olusi Street, Hope Ville Estate, Ajah, Lagos.

According to the police, the accused person fraudulently obtained the sum of N300,000 on the pretence of being a specialist mechanic on Ford vehicles.

Shittu pleaded not guilty to the three criminal charges the police levelled against him.

Chief Magistrate A. A. Fashola admitted him to a bail of N50,000 and adjourned trial for September 19, 2019.
