The All Progressive Congress (APC) Aspirants Forum in Plateau State has said the call for revolution by Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoleye Sowore was a call for mutiny.
It therefore, urged citizens of the state, irrespective of political, ethnic and religious affiliation, to disregard it.
The forum described the call for revolution as a deliberate attempt to incite the public against a democratically elected government led by President Muhammad Buhari .
The group, at a press conference in Jos, led by its Chairman and former member of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Dicket Plang, stated that while lawful assembly was the right of every Nigerian citizen, Sowore and his ‘cohots’ had gone too far when he stated that certain structures of government would cease to exist during the revolution.
“The corporate existence of Nigeria is non-negotiable and as a group, we will not relent in proffering advice to the leadership at both the state and national level that would add value to good governance. We believe that is the best way to go as a people and indeed, Mr. Sowore,” the group stated.
It explained that the only type of revolution known to the laws of Nigeria was the ballot box which Sowore had attempted but lost in the March 2019 elections, urging him to instead wait for another opportunity to attempt to effect change through the ballot box.
Daily Trust reports that there was no revolution protest in Jos as the Plateau State Police Command is yet to lift its ban on protests in the state.
