Senator Daisy Danjuma, wife of former Minister of Defence, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd), has been appointed to the board of May and Baker Nigeria Plc.
The appointment, which was approved by the board at its meeting held in May, was announced in a statement by the company.
According to the statement, Mrs Danjuma will be on the board of the firm as a non-executive director.
Born in August 1952, Mrs Danjuma obtained a law degree at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and has 42 years post-call experience and has worked as a State Counsel in Lagos State Ministry of Justice (DPP); she’s also a pioneer legal counsel to the Legal Aid Council.
She was Company Secretary/Legal Adviser to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) from 1982 to 1992. She was at the Senate from 2003-2007 and while at the upper chamber of the National Assembly, she was a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and Chairman, Women and Child Right Committee of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS Parliament).
She was also the chairman, Senate Committee on Women Affairs and Youth Development and served as member, Senate committees on Health, Education, Finance, Land and Transport.
