The Millard Fuller Foundation has held the second edition of its Housing Seminar Series where it pledged to tackle the challenges in the provision of affordable housing.
The seminar, which held as a pre-event of the 13th Abuja International Housing Show took place at Masaka, Nasarawa State.
The CEO of the foundation, Sam Odia said discussants at the seminar deliberated on how housing cooperatives can serve as a viable option to accessing housing for both the formal and informal sectors.
The three main presenters at the seminar, Dr. Yemi Adelakun, Ebenezer Adebisi and Dr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe focused on funds mobilization; mobilizing savings for down-deposits, affordability; structuring repayments and overcoming environmental, market and regulatory restraints, using their own organizations’ experience as a basis.
While commending the effort of the foundation for putting together the seminar series, the convener of the Abuja International Housing Show, Barr. Festus Adebayo said that recommendations from the seminar will be presented during the 13th edition of the show which is slated to hold later in the month.
