Henry Nwosu warns Super Eagles not to underrate Bafana Bafana

A former international, Coach Henry Nwosu has urged the Super Eagles to tighten their defence and avoid conceding goals against the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in tonight’s Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final clash.

Speaking with Daily Trust yesterday, the former Super Eagles captain and member of the all-conquering 1980 Africa Nations Cup winning team advised the three-times African champions not to take anything for granted when they confront the South Africans tonight.

“We should not think that after defeating Cameroon, we will just walk over South Africa. We must remember that they beat us here in Nigeria. And as such we must be very careful when we are playing them.

“They are a good side and we should respect them and play with caution. The kind of zeal we exhibited against Cameroon should be the same against South Africa.

“The Super Eagles should come out and play and we must not concede. They are a team that once you concede against them, you will find it difficult to penetrate their defense again.

“My prayer and request to the players is that they should not be complacent during the game. They shouldn’t underrate them,” he said.

Nwosu also urged Gernot Rohr to deploy the same players he used against Cameroon.
