Ogun Pilgrims Board clears 400 for 2019 Hajj

The Ogun State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board (OGMPWB) has certified over four hundred intending pilgrims fit to embark on the 2019 Hajj exercise.

Speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta, shortly after screening and inoculation of intending pilgrims, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulhakeem Kalejaye, said the exercise availed them the opportunity of knowing their health status and take better care of themselves preparatory to the pilgrimage.

“I am glad with the turnout of pilgrims. The exercise is highly successful, the medical team and the management were up to the task. I commend everyone for a job well-done”, he said.

In a related development, the 10-man Ad-hoc Committee for the 2019 Hajj, chaired by Imam Mufutau Majekodunmi had met at the Board’s Headquarters in Abeokuta, to further deliberate on the effective coordination of the pilgrimage.

Majekodunmi reminded the pilgrims to observe the tenets of Islam as they prepare for hajj, noting that paying huge sum of money without adherence to Allah’s injunctions may be “a waste of time.”

He urged those who are yet to get their passports to do so, to enable them proceed with their documentation.
