FG moves to proscribe Almajiri education system

The federal government has commenced the move to proscribe the Almajiri education system to address the rising insecurity in the country.

The move dominated today’s National Economic Council (NEC) presided over by the Vice President Yemi Osinbajo at the State House, Abuja.

President Muhammadu Buhari had while inaugurating the NEC said it was a crime for parents not to enroll their wards in schools.

National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno told State House Correspondents after the meeting, that ultimately the government will have to proscribe the Almajiri education system.
