Borno: Gov Zulum urges corps members not to relocate to other states

Borno state Governor Professor Babagana Umara Zulum on Thursday in Kano urged the 1100 corps members posted to Borno state not to contemplate relocating to other states as tremendous success has been recorded in the fight against insurgency in the state.

The Governor made the call during the swearing-in ceremony of 2019 batch ‘B’ stream 1 of National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members posted to the state undergoing orientation course at the state’s temporary orientation camp at Immigration Training School Kano.

Represented by the Chairman Borno state NYSC governing board Alhaji Mahdi Gazali, governor Zulum revealed that, normalcy and peace had returned to the state and that government had initiated many programmes for reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement aimed at complementing the successes recorded by the federal government in the fight against terrorism.

“I can say that, programmes initiated for for reconstruction, rehabilitation and resettlement is yielding greater results. Therefore, I urged you not to contemplate relocating to other states of the federation rather, I would want you to come to Borno state so that you can key into our recovery and development programmes as well as contribute your own quota in rebuilding the state,” Governor Zulum stated.

In his address, State NYSC Coordinator Alhaji Rabi’u Aminu stated that with return of normalcy and relative peace in the state, the number of corps members willing to serve in the state is on the increase in each service year adding that, this is also in connection with the state’s good welfare package and adequate security provision to all.
