FMC Keffi:JOHESU dissociates self from petition accusing MD of fraud

The Leadership of the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, Federal Medical Centre, Keffi has dissociated itself from a publication which accused its Medical Director, Dr. Yaya Adamu of fraud and high-handedness.

The Union in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Comrade Oyibo Halidu and the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Omaga Daniel, said it is unfortunate that some unscrupulous elements who are bent on sowing the seed of discord among workers and the Medical Director could stoop low to fabricate petitions in the name of a non-existing member of the union.

“As a Union, we want to let the world know that one of the best things to have happened to Federal Medical Centre Keffi in recent times, is the emergence of Dr. Yaya Adamu as its Medical Director. This is in recognition of the monumental infrastructural developments and procurement of medical equipment the centre has witnessed within the shortest time. The centre is a public facility and those who are interested in verifying our claims can come down to see things for themselves,” the statement reads.

The Union claimed that the Medical Director enjoy the goodwill and support of workers because of his simplicity, open door leadership style and patients’-oriented policies.

“The union wishes to therefore, caution these paid agents to allow the Medical Director continue with the good works he is doing and desist from creating unnecessary tension just to satisfy their paymasters who see the MD as an obstacle to their penchant for milking the system. The union wishes to admonish media houses to verify issues properly before undertaking jobs just for financial gains as the said petition is baseless and aimed at causing distraction,” it added.
