Nasarawa students win ‘scitech’ contest in Turkey

Nasarawa State contingent has won a science and technology competition held in Turkey.

Head of the contingent, Mr. Musa Ali told Daily Trust that: “The youngsters that made Nigeria and the state proud took first position in the junior category, engineering. They are: Fairuza Alkasim and Angel Titus of Nasarawa Agricultural Development Project, (NADP) School, project Quarters in Lafia, the state capital.”

He disclosed that the event, tagged: Science Energy and Engineering fair 2019, was organised by the Oguzhan Ozkaya Science, Energy and Engineering fair, in Ismir City of Turkey.

Three states that represented Nigeria were Nasarawa, Imo and Ondo, according to him.

Ali said Ondo took second position in senior science category.

He said that, out of the sixty countries in attendance, four were from African; Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Tunisia and South Africa.

Ali said Nasarawa State representatives, who returned to Nigeria on Monday evening, were sponsored to the competition by the state governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule.
