Taraba state government has imposed curfew on Jalingp, the state capital, following the breakdown of law and order in Kona and ATC areas of Jalingo metropolis on Monday evening
The curfew is from 4:00pm to 6:00am daily.
Governor Darius Ishaku in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr Bala Dan Abu, said it has become necessary for government to impose curfew on Jalingo, in view of fresh crisis around Kona and ATC areas in Jalingo metropolis.
Dan Abu further stated that the curfew will remain in force until further notice.
He said security agents have been directed to enforce the curfew as residents have been advised to ensure compliance.
Daily Trust gathered that fresh crisis started at about 6:30pm today around Kona and ATC area, just as sporadic gun shots were heard around the areas.
