The Association for Public Opinion Research (WAPOR) executive council has appointed Paul Nnanwobu, the Chief Executive Officer, Random Dynamic Resources Limited as its national representative for Nigeria.
According to the organisation, the appointment is for the purpose of seeking to become more inclusive and well represented across nations.
Nnanwobu is also the Secretary General of Nigeria Marketing Research Association (NiMRA) and a member of many other international research organizations such as ESOMAR, Insights Association (USA), Africa Marketing Research Association (AMRA).
Commenting, President of WAPOR, Marita Carballo, said with the appointment, which is a two-year term, Nnanwobu will be available to discuss WAPOR in general and/or specific polling issues in Nigeria.
Generally, national representatives also provide yearly reports and advice the world body regarding polling-related issues and how to use public opinion research to promote democratic governance within their countries.
Other tasks expected of the national representative, according to the president, include contribution to WAPOR’s newsletter information on important relevant developments in representative’s nation; contribute in formulating policies and strategies that promote public opinion research globally, as well as to encourage professional colleagues, academics and students to also consider WAPOR membership and participation.
