Women organisation sues for collective efforts to support women

The Founder, Women of Glory (WOG) Foundation, Mrs Nneka Nzewi, has called for collective efforts by all stakeholders towards addressing cases of abuse and violence against women and children in the society.

Nzewi, gave the advice in an interview with Daily Trust at a side-line of the Organisation’s fundraising/gala night recently held in Abuja.

The organisation has passion to foster positive change in the lives of women and children, especially the vulnerable ones through psychological support and economic empowerment.

Nzewi said funds raised at the fundraising/gala night will be used to build a centre in Abuja where women could come for counsel and skills acquisition to enable take care of themselves and their families.

“We are going to be here so that if you are depressed and you need someone to talk to we will always be there. That is what we are trying to do. It is a long time project,” she said.

Nzewi urged Nigerians to endeavour to put a smile on other peoples’ faces, especially the less privilege through act of giving.

Mrs Udo Onyeagba, Vice President II of the organisation, said when the centre is completed women will acquire skills to help them sharpen their talents and reach their potentials.

President International of the organisation, Mrs Ruth Ibiamu, also stressed the need for collective responsibility in protecting the rights of women and children in the society.
