A new tech-driven platform, otherwise known as new Eko Innovation Centre has been launched in Lagos for what organisers described ‘’as a strategic move to use technology as the key driver to fast-growing and smart economies for the country’’.
The Founder, Victor Afolabi, said the tech-innovation centre also aims at revolutionising creation of new jobs that previously never existed.
Afolabi said the idea of a technology-driven growth is the key motivation for the development of Eko Innovation Centre which aims at serving as the incubation for startups in Lagos – the heart of the country’s economy.
“Tech hubs are a vital part of the entire start-ups ecosystems by providing platforms and opportunities for collaborations and building support structures that are important to the growth of new startups,” Afolabi said.
The Chief Executive Officer added that he and his team ‘’saw in the Lagos manifesto an agenda to make the State a 21st century economy. The only way to create a 21st century economy is to make sure you are creating businesses and solution to problems that are driven by innovation and technology’’.
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu said he endorsed the initiative even as he reiterated his administration’s commitment to leveraging on technology in delivering the megacity dream.
