Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has said the management of the apex bank had endured abuse for swimming against the tide with unconventional monetary policies.
Emefiele made the remark in Ibadan at the 1st University of Ibadan “Distinguished Leadership Lecture Series” organised by the university in collaboration with the CBN.
He added that no country does everything to isolate its industries from external dumping because it results in job losses.
Emefiele also hinted that the CBN had reached an advanced stage with efforts to re-open textiles after resolving the issues of electricity and gas.
