The abducted Special Adviser on Political Matters to the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Alhaji Salihu Kakamba, has been set free by his abductors after they received N5 million ransom.

The aide was abducted in the early hours of Sunday at his private residence at Anguwar Sabon-Tasha in Abaji.

A member of the victim’s family confirmed the release of his brother via telephone yesterday.

He said his elder brother was released in the early hours of Wednesday between Gegu/Ahoko Village in neighbouring Kogi State.

He said the victim trekked for almost two hours to the highway before he located the road back to Abaji.

“But we thank God he is back home safely without any harm, we give glory to God,” he added.

The spokesman of the FCT Police Command, DSP Anjuguri Manza, confirmed the release of the victim, but said he was not aware of the payment of the ransom.
