Two girls of between 17 to 19 years have been abducted by unidentified gunmen along Wukari-Takum road in Taraba State.
Daily Trust gathered that the girls were traveling in a public transport from Wukari to Takum town with other passengers when the kidnappers blocked the road and forced the vehicle, with all passengers, inside the forest.
A source in Wukari, Musa chindo, told our reporter that the two girls are from Wukari town, adding that the incident happened at Kufan Amadu.
Kufan Amadu has been a nightmare to travelers plying the road because of the high rate of kidnapping there recently.
The source further stated that other passengers and the vehicle have been released but the two girls were still being held by the abductors.
Chindo revealed that many persons had been abducted by kidnappers at kufan Amadu in recent time with many of those abducted still being held for several weeks.
He said the kidnappers have not contacted the parents of the girls, a development that was raising tension among residents of Wukari town.
The Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba command, DSP David Misal could not be reach as his line was switched off when our reporter called.
