UniBen offers 11,772 admission out of 75,000 candidates

The University of Benin (UniBen) has offered provisional admission to 11,772 out of the over 75,000 candidates who applied to study in the school in the 2018/2019 academic session.

UniBen’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faraday Orumwense, disclosed this at the weekend during the 2018/2019 matriculation ceremony of the institution.

He charged the students to shun vices, such as cultism and prostitution among others, saying the institution has zero tolerance to vices, adding that whoever is caught would be expelled.

Prof. Orumwense also urged the students to remain focused in their academic pursuit and shun examination malpractices to remain in the institution, noting that UniBen is known for excellence.

“Let me also place on record that the National Universities Commission has accredited more courses in our institution, thereby creating enough room to accommodate more candidates seeking admission into various departments,” he said.
