Islamic cleric freed from DSS detention

A Bauchi-based Islamic cleric, Ustaz Idris Abdulaziz, who was earlier detained by the Department of State Services (DSS) was released yesterday, a week after he was invited by the Bauchi  office of the DSS and taken to Abuja.

One of his students, Mallam Ya’u Idris, confirmed the release to Daily Trust Saturday on telephone yesterday.

“Yes, he was released.  We have already arrived Bauchi and he is at home now. He is currently with some visitors,” he said.
