Airtel launches 4G service in Edo

Airtel Nigeria has launched 4G service for the benefit of its customers in Edo state.

Speaking during the launching in Benin on Tuesday, the Managing Director of Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, said the launch of 4G service in Benin is a modernization of the network infrastructure in the state  with new and innovative offerings that will empower and offer real value to the people of the state.

Ogunsanya, who was represented by the Regional Operations Director (South), Airtel Nigeria, Oladapo Dosunmu, said the service will empower people and business as well as aid governance in the state through technology.

“4G service will accelerate economic and commercial activities, boost personal and professional productivity, create more entrepreneurs, offer the youth a leverage to express their creativity and talent and improve the overall quality of life and connect more people to their dream,” he said.

He said Airtel Nigeria is offering Nigerians and Edo state in particular a 4G service that is not only reliable but a service that works.

While calling on people to upgrade to 4G, he said Airtel Nigeria believes that superior 4G service is a major step in actualizing its objective of making life simple and better for Nigerians.

Also speaking, the state Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, assured of the state government’s partnership with Airtel Nigeria, a leading telecommunication service-provider in Nigeria, to drive its economy.

Shaibu said the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration plans to make the state the hub of digital network “knowing fully that we have  a very focus youth that will take the advantage of the 4G service.”

“I want our youths to take advantage of today’s launch to expand their business; the world is a global place and Edo state is linking to what it takes to develop an economy.

“Don’t forget that the white collar jobs had since left the advance country that we are imitating. For us to grow our economic like them, we must be self-employed  by taken the advantage of technology,” he said.

He, however, charged the youths to keep transacting positive business that are legally accepted, saying that they should “engage in businesses that would promote us and benefit our economy as well as the state.”
