He said the activation of the digital access management system would not only ensure that the NNPC staff and visitors remained protected within the precinct of the expansive NNPC Towers, but also help to account for the massive human traffic, while providing electronic restriction of access to classified locations in the facility.

The NNPC Towers Electronic Gate Access and Visitors Management System is an integrated management system which encompasses use of multiple state-of-the-art surveillance cameras positioned within and around the four-tower edifice of its corporate headquarters. The system also includes scores of multi-dimensional patrol cameras covering the entire precinct and adjoining neighbourhood.

The system is complete with a digital control room which provides for real time monitoring of movements across all the 13 floors in the four-tower edifice, including the basements, car parks and neighbourhood.

Meanwhile, a subsidiary of the corporation, NNPC Property Limited (NPL) has unveiled opportunities for its staff to tap into the property market in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt to own homes. According to information contained in the January edition of the corporation’s news publication, the opportunities were unveiled at a marketing and sales campaign which took place recently at the towers.

It was held in conjunction with third-party real estate firms to sensitise staff to prospects of affordable home ownership.

Speaking on the benefits of the 3rd Party Staff Housing Scheme, Managing Director of NPL, Mr. Okonma Sokari-George, said the company had taken time to review the estate and building plans on offer by the third party property developers to ensure that they were in compliance with the environmental principle of, “Live, work, play and learn.”
