The incoming Director General, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has assured that he will strive to sustain the tremendous achievements of the outgoing Director General, Major General Suleiman Kazaure and take the scheme to the ‘next level’.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja during the handover/takeover ceremony at the headquarters, he said outgoing had done very well by lifting the scheme to a higher level hence he will build on his achievements.
Shuaibu who has resumed as the 18th Director General of the scheme, said his vision was to sustain effective utilisation of the potentials of the Corps Members, pursue technologically driven organisation.
The DG who served as Military Assistant to a former Director General of the Scheme, Major General Samson Dule 1996 – 1999 said his administration would also improve the welfare of both Corps members and the staff as well as their security, strengthen existing collaborations with stakeholders and rejig the NYSC ventures in line with the NYSC Act.
He urged the staff to corporate with him and be committed to work, shun malpractices and corruption hence team work and fairness were his watchword.
On his part, outgoing Director General, Major General Suleiman Kazaure, appreciated the staff and Corps members for their cooperation in achieving a successful term in office hence urged them to extend same cooperation to the incoming DG.
