DEVELOPING: Kano emirates bill passes second reading

The Bill for creation of four new emirates in Kano state has passed a second reading at the state House of Assembly sitting on Wednesday.

The lawmakers had adjourned the sitting for a secret sitting after which they would reconvene for the third reading and subsequent passage of the bill into law.

Meanwhile, the state governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has promised to assent the bill as soon as it is passed into law by the lawmakers.
