Insecurity: Inspector General of Police briefs Senate

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu Abubakar is currently briefing the Senate on the state of insecurity in parts of the country.

The IGP’s briefing was sequel to a Senate resolution on April 30.

Senators had expressed concerns over the spate of killings, kidnappings and other forms of insecurity in the country.

They resolved that the IG of Police should be invited to give them a brief on all the actions taken by the police under him since he took over as acting police chief in January.

IGP Adamu stepped into the Senate chamber at exactly 11:21.am to brief the Senate.

Immediately after the IGP’s arrival, Senate President Bukola Saraki announced that the briefing would be done in a closed-door session.

Consequently, the closed-door session commenced at exactly 11:25.am.
