Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje yesterday relieved all permanent secretaries of their appointments with immediate effect.
A statement by the Head of Service, Muhammad Awwal Na’iya, said this was to implement reform initiatives for efficiency in service delivery.
The permanent secretaries were directed to hand over to the most senior directors in their respective ministries and organisations on or before May 8, 2019.
They were also directed to report to the office of head of civil service for their reassignment.
The statement said all substantive directors on grade level 16 or 17 and the relieved permanent secretaries, interested in the position of permanent secretaries, could apply by submitting their applications along with their Curriculum Vitae and notification of last promotion or appointment to the office of head of service by 4pm, next Thursday.
