Plateau PDP to probe suspended Chairman, Deputy

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Plateau State chapter, has set up a 7-man disciplinary committee to probe the suspended State Chairman, Damishi Sango and his Deputy, Amos Gombi.

Sango and Gombi were both suspended last week Wednesday by the executives over alleged diversion of Presidential campaign funds during the 2019 General Elections as well as N9.8 million meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IPDs). There were other reasons given for the suspension.

The party’s Vice Chairman, Northern Zone, Chris Hassan, was asked to take over as the Acting State Chairman, pending the outcome of the disciplinary committee, set up to investigate the matter.

The 7-man committee was set up after the State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting of the party, presided over by the Acting Chairman, Chris Hassan.

According to Hassan, the committee was expected to submit its report on the 29 May 2019.

He said Barrister Sunday S. Pangwal would serve as Chairman of the committee, while Pamson Dagyet will serve as secretary of the committee.

“The SEC members have agreed that the suspension of the State Chairman of the Party, Damishi Sango and his Deputy, Amos Gombi was in accordance with the Constitution of the party.

“A 7-man disciplinary committee has been set up to investigate the chairman and the Deputy on the allegations they are being accused of. The committee which has Barr. Sunday Pangwal as chairman and Hon. Pamsom Dagyet as secretary.The committee is expected to submit its report on the 29 May 2019. This is the decision of SEC,” Hassan said.
