Hajj: Tour Operators get April 30 deadline to pay licence fees

Some 2019 Hajj Tour Operators may be delisted by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for non-payment of their licence fees.

To this end, the commission has given the affected Tour Operators up to May 30 to pay the money or forfeit their licences.

This was contained in a notice issued to the affected operators and signed by Head, Licensing Div. NAHCON, Alidu Shutti.

“The deadline for the payment is before or on Tuesday, 30th April – 2019,” the notice said.

“Failure to comply with this deadline, will mean automatic forfeiture of their 2019 Hajj License, as the Commission will delist the company accordingly,” it added.

Daily Trust reports that the Hajj commission had allocated a total of 18,090 hajj seats to 115 licensed private tour operators participating in the 2019 hajj exercise.

This figure was contained in the document released by NAHCON recently detailing the slots approved for the tour companies.

The international pilgrims going through the tour operators are different from pilgrims performing the exercise through their respective state pilgrims’ welfare boards.

Tafsan Tour and Travels belonging to the foremost Islamic organizations, NASFAT and Al-Hujaaj International Hajj and Umrah Services Limited got the highest slots of 400 each while 30 newly registered companies got 80 slots each.

Also Hajj Mabrur, another tour operator secured the second highest allocation of 350 slots while four other companies Al-Qibla, Comerel, Oasis and Shebra also got 300 slots each.

Further checks on the allocation table showed that other tour operators got allocations ranging from 250, 200, 150 and 130.

Also featuring among the tour companies was Med-View Travels Konsult Limited, a travel and tour arm of Med-View Airline PLC, one of the Hajj carriers and domestic airlines operating in the country.

Among the tour operators featuring are Al-Faozan Travels and Tour Limited (200 slots); Al-Fatiha Travel Agency Limited (200); Al Kauthar Travels Limited (200); Crisp Leisure Travels and Tours (130); Famak Travels and Tours Limited (130); among others.
