The two pregnant women and three other persons abducted at Nariya Community of Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State have regained their freedom.
They were released by their abductors on Saturday morning after a ransom was paid.
A source closed to one of the victims who didn’t want to be named said all the five victims were in good health.
He said they have since reunited with their family.
” Yes they were released on Saturday around 11:30 am and I spoke with one of them around 2:pm. They were all in good health. We thank God,” he said.
Asked if a ransom was paid to secure their released he said” It’s a must but we thank God they are back in good health,” he said.
On Whether any of the pregnant women delivered while in captivity as speculated ,he said, “All these are rumours that people were spreading because none of them delivered.”
The source didn’t disclose the ransom paid but it was gathered that the kidnappers hours after taken the victims demanded N20 million.
Daily Trust reported last week Sunday how residents of the area staged a protest over the abduction of the five residents.
It took the intervention of security agencies to control the angry youths who are calling for end of kidnapping in the area.
