The Federal Government, yesterday, commissioned and handed over flood and erosion projects in Damaturu and Nguru towns in Yobe State.
The projects were separately commissioned by the Minister of State for Power, Works and Housing, Hon. Mustapha Baba Shehuri.
The minister said the projects were executed through the ecological fund office with the Damaturu project part of the 26 ecological interventions for the second quarter of 2017, while that of Nguru is for the fourth quarter 2017.
He explained that the projects would check the menace of erosion and flooding, as well as improve the environmental conditions of the areas exposed to the vagaries of weather and years of neglect.
