The Federal University, Dustsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina state has matriculated 5,215 new students who were admitted for the 2018/2019 academic session.
Daily Trust reports that 6,700 had been offered admission but only the above students have finalised their registration processes.
Speaking at the 8th matriculation ceremony of the university, its vice chancellor Professor Adamu Baba-Kutigi said the university which was design to meet the needs of the new generation especially it’s ICT driven principles will not spare any students or staff collaborators found indulge in cultism and other social vices.
According to him, sanctions which include expulsion awaits all those found wanting, and that other forms of misconduct such as fighting, stealing, and disrespect to constituted authority will be closely monitored and punished accordingly.
He said, to promote peace and harmony, students should try and respect the tradition and values of the host community saying that “indecent dressing will not be condoned as it has in the past prevented students from attending lectures, practical field trips and even use of library”
