Three cattle merchants abducted in Taraba

Three cattle merchants have been abducted by gunmen along Wukari-Takum road in Taraba State.

The merchants were said to be traveling from  Ibbi town to Maraban Baissa in Donga LGA of the state to buy cows on Saturday when they were abducted.

It was gathered that the merchants were carrying huge amount of money with then when the gunmen blocked the Takum-Wukari road near Kofan Amadu and abducted them after robbing several other travellers.

The abductors, it was gathered, have not contacted families of the victims as at the time of filing this report.

The road, which is the only link to Wukari and Takum, has been under siege of kidnappers, forcing many motorists to abandon it in recent times.

When contacted, the police spokesman in the state, DSP David Misal, said the command was doing its best to checkmate criminal elements, including kidnappers terrorizing innocent citizens.
