Alhaji Ahmadu Fintiri, Governor-elect for Adamawa State, has advised Christians in the state to imbibe and sustain the lessons learned during Lenten season, leading to the Holy Week as they celebrate the Easter.
The governor-elect, in a statement by his media aide, Mr Solomon Kumangar on Sunday, felicitated with citizens of the state on the occasion, noting that the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ remained the hallmark of love and sacrifice which mankind should embrace.
“Fintiri is confident that the lessons learned during Lenten season, leading to Holy Week will continue to guide the words and actions of each and everyone in the struggle to make Adamawa State and indeed Nigeria, work again.”
He condemned the recent attack on Bolon community and its environs in Demsa Local Government, describing it as unfortunate and urged security agents to double their efforts to unmask the perpetrators.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that various activities are lined up in Adamawa to celebrate Easter, including special prayers, visits and distribution of gifts to hospitals, orphanages and prisons. (NAN)
