The Bayelsa State government has inaugurated a 27-member committee to plan the burial of literary icon, Dr Gabriel Okara, who died last month at the age of 98.
The state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr Daniel Iworiso-Markson, told Journalists after the state executive council meeting yesterday that the committee was headed by the Deputy Governor, Rear Admiral John Jonah (rtd).
He stated that the Chief of Staff, Government House, some serving commissioners, a representative of the Association of Nigerian Authors and a veteran journalist, Lindsay Barret, are members of the committee.
