The All Nigerian Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) chapter, has inaugurated a scholarship scheme for students of the schools in the territory.
The President of the association, Malam Abdulkarim AbdulRahman, made the disclosure in Abuja on Wednesday while inaugurating the scheme.
He stated that ANCOPSS was major stakeholders in the education system, adding that the association deemed it fit to collaborate with FCT Scholarship Board to ensure the scholarship reach the right beneficiaries.
He said that that education held the key to other developments in any nation, adding that all FCT principals must ensure the enhancement of sound secondary education for students, for national development.
“This will lead to a crop of professionals in the teaching and learning process who are disciplined, committed and dedicated,’’ he said.
Abdulrahman assured that the present ANCOPSS leadership would continue to ensure qualitative education without compromising the discharge of their duties.
He commended members of the association for their support and solicited for more cooperation to achieve the purpose of impacting knowledge and production of responsible students.
The Director, FCT Scholarship Board, Malam Ahmed Rany, said the scholarship scheme was a right step in the right direction.
“The board will not relent in its efforts to bring succour to FCT residents while showing appreciation to the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello for his continuous support,’’ he said.
