A special Appeal Court session will hold at the Osun State High Court in Osogbo, starting from tomorrow (Monday).
Daily Trust gathered that the arrangement was meant to test run the process of setting up the Osogbo Division Appeal Court. The test run is expected to start on April 8th and last till April 19th.
The Deputy Chief Registrar of Court of Appeal, Akure, H.T Kawu, in a statement said all arrangements have been concluded for the special Court of Appeal session in Osogbo.
The chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Osogbo branch, Dele Ajibade also confirmed the special session of the Appeal Court in Osogbo, saying he was invited to make a speech at the opening ceremony.
The Chief Registrar of Osun State High Court, Mr Lawrence Olawale Arojo, also confirmed that the special Appeal Court session would start tomorrow and hold for the next two weeks.
Meanwhile, the state government has embarked on renovation of the State High Court to give it a facelift ahead of the special Appeal Court session in Osogbo.
The state Governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, is also expected to be at the appellate court special session and speak during the opening ceremony.
Before now, all appeal cases were taken to Akure division of the Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo state.
Lawyers in Osun state have since been agitating for a division of the appeal court in Osogbo.
