Praise provokes miracles

We know that God’s presence is man’s ideal environment. Praise is God’s dwelling. Praise is our access to his presence. Praise is God’s prescription for changing your environment through bringing down the presence of God.

Praise is the first thing in heaven’s protocol.

The primary purpose of our existence is to praise God. Isaiah 43:21, “21This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.” To show forth God’s praise goes beyond merely singing or saying nice things to God about Him but by living an exemplary life. We must have an active altar where we come and worship God.

SPONSOR AD

The primary purpose for building an altar is to offer sacrifices unto God. Exodus 20:24, “24An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen…” An altar is therefore incomplete without a sacrifice. Sacrifices attract God. Exodus 20:24,“24An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon… in all places where I record my name I WILL COME UNTO THEE…” Sacrifices draw God. God visited Solomon the very night he offered a thousand burnt offerings unto God. God comes where there is sacrifice. The primary purpose of our prayer altar is to offer the sacrifice of praise unto God (Hebrews 13:15, “15By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.”) If you want to change your fortunes, live a life of praise and sacrificial giving.

What is praise?

According to the Webster Dictionary, praise includes commending, expressing approval or a favourable judgment of, and glorifying, especially by crediting with perfections. Praise is the recognition and acknowledgement of His greatness and awesome power.

To praise God is to celebrate Him for who He is and commend Him for His goodness, love, mercy etc., towards us.

Facts about praise

  1. Praising God by approval means that we have a favourable opinion of God, which we tell Him and others.
  2. Praising by giving God glory means that we honour Him and express our admiration for Him, which we tell Him and others. We give Him the glory for all He does in our lives. That is why it is mandatory to share our testimonies with others. Psalm 105:1-2, “1O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people. [2]Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.”
  3. Praise turns the focus of our life from us to God.
  4. To be able to praise God, we have to know Him. Before we can consistently praise God, we must get close enough to Him to see His true nature and character. This was what God did with Moses. He brought him close and showed him His nature. Exodus 34:6-8, “And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth, [7] Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children’s children, unto the third and to the fourth generation. [8] And Moses made haste, and bowed his head toward the earth, and worshipped.” Moses natural reaction after seeing God was spontaneous worship. If you are finding it difficult to worship God check that you are close enough to Him and that you know Him. the English standard version puts exodus 34:6 this way, “That is, the LORD passed in front of Moses and said, “YAHWEH, the LORD, is a kind and merciful God. He is slow to become angry. He is full of great love. He can be trusted.” His name is the summary of His character and nature. The Lord God Jehovah is kind and merciful. There is no wickedness in Him. He is slow to anger, full of great love and can be trusted. It is impossible to trust a God you do not know let alone worship Him. Meditate on this Scripture until it becomes a part of you, you will find it easier to trust and worship the Almighty God even in the midst of failure and challenges.
  5. Praise is a conscious choice, an act of our will.
  6. A sacrifice of praise is the praise we give God from obedience despite how we feel. This comes from the CONFIDENCE we have in Him. This is the FAITH required to praise Him.
  7. Praise is giving God all that is His due and GIVING HIM ROOM in our life to do all He wants to do.
  8. So, when we praise God we ENTITLE HIM to BECOME and DO FOR US whatever we praise Him as. For example, if I praise Him as Jehovah-rophe, I entitle and give Him room to become my healer; so He comes and heals me. If I praise God as Jehovah-Jireh, I acknowledge Him as my source and entitle and give Him room to bless and prosper me. It is also becomes easier to pay your tithe and trust Him with your finances and look up to Him for your supply.
  9. God does fearful things when He is praised. When praise becomes your lifestyle, miracles become your daily experience. The glory of God descends when praise goes up from the earth. Exodus 15:11, “Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”

Wonders occur when the sovereign Ruler of the universe is recognized, worshipped and given His due place. If you want God to do wonders in your life, family, ministry and business, become addicted to praise!

Diverse miracles take place when the Almighty God is exalted. Praise is the way you bring about a supernatural turnaround in your situation. Worship changes your life in a way nothing else can!

Let me close with this: there are two things that will last into eternity: love and worship. In many passages in the book of Revelations you will see angels worshipping God, you will also see the elders worshipping God but you will not see anyone prophesying or teaching because they will no longer be needed. 1Corinthians 13:8 tells us that prophecies, tongues and knowledge will cease but love will not fail because that is God’s very nature. So if you want to enjoy heaven on earth, live a life of worship. That is the way to enter into rest.

As you worship the Lord today, every good thing that has been missing in your life will locate you! Wonders will happen in your body, home, business and finances.

Have a blessed week!
