PDP urges police to prosecute elected APC Assembly member over forgery

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Edo state has urged the police to prosecute elected All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the just concluded House of Assembly election for Ovia North East Constituency I, Dumez Onaiwu Ugiagbe.

Addressing journalists on Wednesday in Benin, the PDP candidate for the election, Nosa Victor Omoregie, alleged that the photograph on the certificate of Ugiagbe for the November/December 2001 West Africa Examination Council was different from the one attached to the photocopy submitted for the election.

He said they wrote to the examination body to authenticate Ugiagbe’s result and got a reply four days later in which they discovered that the slip bears a different passport.

” From WAEC response, it was obvious that the lawmaker-elect contracted someone to impersonate him and write the examination for him because the passport with the WAEC is different

He said one of my supporters, Mr. Blessing Osagie had petitioned the police demanding a thorough investigation of the matter.
