A Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed the application challenging the collation of results in the Rivers state’s Governorship and House of Assembly elections of March 9.

Justice Inyang Ekwo yesterday ruled that the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

He said the reliefs sought by the plaintiff are post-election matters.

The African Action Congress (AAC) and its candidate, Awara Biomkpomoba had brought the suit seeking to stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from proceeding with the collation of the results in the state.

The court is also set to make pronouncement on a similar application by Labour Party’s candidate, Isaac Wonwu challenging the collation.
