Nigeria’s Emmanuel Iduma has made the 2019 RSL Ondaatje Prize longlist for his book, ‘A Stranger’s Pose’, published by Cassava Republic.
The £10,000 RSL Ondaatje Prize is awarded annually to a book of the highest literary merit, fiction, non-fiction or poetry, which best evokes the spirit of a place. In its fifteenth year, the Royal Society of Literature has announced a longlist, for the first time, of 20 books, in celebration of the Prize.
This year’s judges are Sabrina Mahfouz, Michele Roberts and Ian Thomson. The shortlist will be announced at the RSL ‘The Spirit of a Place’ event on April 16, and the winner on May 13.
