The Technical Adviser of Yobe Desert Stars, Ngozi Elechi, has been sacked by the Nigerian professional football league over failure to win the three match ultimatum given by the club hierarchy.
This was contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the media officer of the club, Jibo Zakari on Monday in Damaturu.
Zakari said the performance of the technical crew has fallen bellow expectation.
“We found ourselves in a very difficult situation having lost three straight games in 10 days. We need to galvanise measure that will keep us afloat in the top flight.
“The management expressed displeasure over the club’s recent performance in 2018/2019 Nigerian professional football league season; we gave them 3 match ultimatums to prove themselves, but no result.
“I admire Elechi very much, I respect him very much. He seems to be a top trainer and that makes us harder to make the decision, but we do not have any other choice than to terminate his contract,” he added.
Elechi became Yobe Desert Stars technical adviser following Mohammed Babaganaru’s departure at the beginning of the NPFL season.
Yobe Desert Stars will travel to Gombe to have a date with Gombe United this weekend for their Nigeria professional football league Matchday 13 matches.
