No fewer than 10 governorship candidates under the aegis of the Forum of 2019 Governorship Candidates of Political Parties in Imo State, on Tuesday, endorsed the election of Emeka Ihedioha as the governor-elect of the state.
The candidates, at a press briefing in Owerri on Tuesday, therefore, appealed to their colleagues contemplating court action over the outcome of the election to sheathe their swords and work together with the incoming administration for the interest of the state.
The parties are; Fresh Democratic Party, Alliance for a United Nigeria, Action Peoples Party, Alliance for Democracy and Reform and Advancement Party.
Others are; Coalition for Change, NCMP, NPM and the Vice Chairman of Action Democratic Party.
The spokesman of the forum, Mazi Excel Ochiama, said that at this stage and with the elections over, every citizen of the state, irresponsible of political affiliation, should join hands with the governor-elect in rebuilding the state.
They also urged one of the governorship aspirants under PDP Samuel Anyanwu, to desist from acts capable of undermining the interest of the party.
