An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Monday, remanded two accused persons: Moses Akinola, 27 and Adegboyega Olalekan, 20, over alleged defilement and indecent assault.
Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji, did not grant the bail of the accused, but asked the prosecutor, Insp. Adebayo Joseph, to duplicate their case file to the office of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
She asked their defence counsels, Mrs Salawu S. O. and Mr Obi Samuel to come with formal application for the consideration of their bail.
Olufunmi, therefore, ordered for the remand of the accused in Ile-Ife prison custody pending their bail consideration.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Adebayo Joseph, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on March 2, around 2:00 pm at Agaun area, Ile-Ife.
Joseph said that the accused conspired among themselves to commit felony to wit: defilement and indecent assault.
He added that the accused unlawfully and indecently assaulted the 14-year-old girl.
According to him, the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of 14-year-old girl.
He said that the offence contravened sections: 221, 360 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The case was adjourned until March 23, for definite hearing. (NAN)
