The Returning Officer, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello said that El-rufai of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged winner in the election, having scored the highest number of votes of 1,045,427 against his main rival in the election and candidate of Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Isah Ashiru Kudan who scored 814,168.
He said the APC candidate, Nasiru Ahmed El-rufai, having scored the highest number of votes in the election, is hereby declared winner and returned”.
