Governorship Poll: El-rufai heading for victory in Kaduna

Governorship results from the 23 local government declared so far, shows that the incumbent Governor Nasiru Ahmed El-rufai of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is heading for victory.

The governor has so fa,r defeated his close rival, Isah Ashiru Kidan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 14 of the 23 local government areas, LGAs, of the state.

Based on results so far declared at the state collation center in Kaduna, El-rufai won Kubau, Ikara, Kudan, Makarfi, Giwa, Kauru Soba, Kaduna North, Birinin Gwari, Sabon Gari, Lere, Kaduna South, Igabi and Zaria LGAs while Ashiru won in Kaura, Jaba, Kajuru, Kachia, Zangon Kataf, Sanga, Chikun, kagarko and Jema’a LGAs

The state Returning Officer, Professor Muhammad Bello and other INEC officials went for short break to resume by 11am for the declaration of the winner.
